Canaan Kids’ Artspace is looking for volunteers and donated supplies to fuel our creative programs for kids. Join us in fostering imagination and eco-friendly art by donating or signing up to volunteer today!

Accepted Donations

We love turning discarded and recyclable materials into beautiful art! 

  • All items must be clean and dry.

  • No sharp objects, toxic materials, or items with mold/mildew

  • No latex gloves/balloons

Here’s a list of items we happily accept:

Recyclable/Upcyclable Materials

  • Clean plastic bottles and containers (e.g., water bottles, yogurt tubs, milk jugs)

  • Plastic bottle caps

  • Plastic lids (e.g., from coffee cups, jars, or food containers)

  • Clean glass jars and bottles (with or without lids)

  • Clean tin cans (no sharp edges)

  • Paper towel and toilet paper rolls

  • Small cardboard boxes (shoe boxes, cereal boxes)

  • Bubble wrap and clean packing materials

  • Used wrapping paper, tissue paper, and gift bags

  • Egg cartons (cardboard or plastic)

  • Magazines, newspapers, and colorful paper

  • Buttons, beads, and broken jewelry

  • Chicken wire, moldable fencing

  • Fishing line/twine

  • Bouncy balls, tennis balls

  • Metal forks/spoons (bendable)

  • Fishing lures - NO hooks

  • Cooling racks/baking sheets

Crafting Basics

  • Glue sticks and liquid glue

  • Washable paint and paintbrushes

  • Markers

  • Child-safe scissors

  • Tape (masking, duct, painters and clear)

  • Stickers, stencils, and stamps

  • Gems,sequins, Googly eyes

  • Popsicle sticks and clothespins

  • Window markers

  • Pipe cleaners

  • Q-tips 

  • Pliers 

Miscellaneous Materials

  • Old greeting cards

  • Puzzle pieces, game pieces, or cards from incomplete sets

  • Shells, pinecones, and other natural items

  • Clean and dry coffee filters

  • Button down shirts for smocks

  • Coconut oil

  • Baking soda 

  • Cutting boards

  • Drop cloth/tarps/old shower curtains
